This box of mooncakes was given by one of our vendors, Oracle.
We have never got mooncakes from Oracle (Database), but we have always been getting mooncakes from Sun. Since Sun has become Oracle, we now get them Oracle (Sun). Confused?
Anyway, Oracle gave us mooncakes from Fairmont Hotel / Swissotel.
Here you see my colleague tearing off the Oracle sticker stuck on it. (He is the mysql person!)
The is how it looks from a bird's eye view.
When I saw this box of mooncakes, I was happy. It's the same one that my mum and sis have spent time tasting at Takashimaya's basement few weeks ago that I had to pay to be given to Momo's mum. Mum and Sis said this was one of the better tasting one and it has a nice box too! I finally got to taste it!
It's very orange!
This is how it looks after I took out the plastic wrapper.
That says "Shuang huang" which means double yolks.
The texture of the lotus paste was smooth and not very oily.
It was also quite fragrant.
The skin was nice to nibble too.

Mooncakes - Fairmont Hotel / Swissotel
Mooncakes - Peony Jade Restaurant
A colleague bought this for us to enjoy during tea few days ago. There was some roadshow at our workplace where vendors brought in mooncakes for sale at a discount.
This was mooncakes from Peony Jade Restaurant.
If you are thinking, it that really jade, what do you think? ;-p
Peony Jade has a following in Singapore. She is famous for her Flaky Teochew "Orr Nee" with Golden Pumpkin Mooncakes.
It's interesting that they call it the "Ex-Crown Prince Hotel Flaky Teochew "Orr Nee" with Golden Pumpkin Mooncakes."
Here is the "Or Nee" mooncake.
There's a reason they emphasize that it's flaky!
This is one of our colleague's hand. The guy who absolutely loves Or Nee. If you want to tempt him, anything Or Nee will do!
Taste wise, it is really different from your usual mooncake.
It is not very 'heavy'. The "Or Nee" is rather soft, so you got to be really gentle!
The yam and pumpkin goes really well. In fact, you taste more of yam than pumpkin.
For some of us who loves egg yolk, the egg yolk adds a little saltiness to the sweet paste which we like.
When you eat in a group in the office, mooncake always taste nicer!
If you don't like yolk you can also pass to someone who will gladly eat it.
Mooncakes - Yes Natural
Colleague bought this mooncake for us to try.
Yes Natural is a vegetarian restaurant (which I have not heard off until this box of mooncakes arrived in our office haha).
Colleague said that the person selling him said it's one of the healthiest mooncake around.
There's no preservative he said. Colleague was convinced and bought a box of two mooncakes.
This was the "Assorted Nuts" mooncakes.
The nuts mooncakes was surprisingly good.
It's a bit like having a oriental version of muesli bar that has richer taste.
The other mooncake was the white lotus paste with double yolks.
This is vegetarian salted egg yolk. The 5 or 6 of us who ate it thought the yolk tasted 'funny'. The yolk tasted like flaky flour mix with lots of salt and orange colouring.
The lotus paste was all right though. So, you probably might want to get them without yolks if you want to try them.
