Cedele @ Novena Square

We walked around after lunch at Zhou's Kitchen. Walking does burn away calories and make you tired and thirsty! Before we know it, we got a text message from aunt telling us if anyone's interested for a tea break, she's at Cedele, taking a break.

We were happy to receive the text and quickly appeared at Cedele to join her and uncle.
Aunt felt like eating something, so we got the tea set that consists of a drink and a scone.

Aunt had the cranberry scone. We all pinched a little bit and yes, it's nice!

Cranberry Scones

Coffee.. (for the caffeine addict hehe)
Aunt needs a coffee in the afternoon!

Coffee!

I had something sweet and sour!
Sweet Honey with Sour Calamansi. Very refreshing.

Sour and sweet Calamansi, so refreshing!

Cheers! A green tea something with chocolate something.
Momo says she loves the chocolate drink here.

Yey to cold drinks!

While chatting, we realised we all call this place by differently.
Momo says her colleagues calls it "Sir Dell", and confidently said her other colleagues asked their ang moh colleagues, it should be like that.

I think it was aunt who said "See Dell".

I always call it "See Dell Lay".

How? So who is right? I decided to ask the people working there how to pronounce Cedele. I walked up to the counter and ask! It turns out I was the closest!

Oh, it's pronounced "See Dell Lee" said the chirpy service staff.

And now you know too. So, how have you been calling it?

Zhou's Kitchen @ Square 2

This was Sunday lunch at Zhou's Kitchen, Square 2. Aunt had some rebate vouchers from dining here previously and thought we would use it today. But we did not read the fine prints on the voucher. Vouchers can only be used on weekdays! haha..

So we paid without using the vouchers. Guess what, after paying for the meal, we had even more vouchers from them. Is that how they are making people come back for more?

We thought of having the a la carte buffet, but it's not  served till 2.45 pm, so we just order off the usual menu.

It is everyone in the family's favourite. Sliced Pork with garlic sauce.

Do we seem to be eating this everywhere we go?

Sliced Pork with Garlic Sauce

The Crispy Silver Fish with Salted Pepper. It is nice and crispy and I love it with their chilli (with tow cheo) that's on every table. ;-)

Crisp-fried Silver Fish with Salted Pepper

This is nice. Pan-fried Beef Tenderloin with Black Pepper. It is very tender and it's one of those things that when you tasted it, you want more.

This is Braised Spinach Beancurd with Mushrooms and Vegetables.
(As usual, I like the vegetables more than the beancurd. hehe)

Stewed Eggplant with Minced Pork and Salted Fish. Another of our favourite. Ya, we know salted fish is carcinogenic, but it taste good. So how? Don't order it as often lah, and eat broccoli for few days after eating this. :-p

Can't remember the name of this dish, but all we remember is this chicken soup is very very nice. It has lots of lotus seeds and some gel like substance (that we always forget to ask what it is).

Chicken Soup

It comes in a huge serving bowl before it was scooped into the little bowls. Inside the pot was this spring chicken. It's a naked, skinless chicken! haha..

Chicken from the chicken soup

Oops, the next dish turned out to be a soupy dish as well!
So there's chicken soup and now we have fish soup. haha

It's fish slices with loofa and black fungus. Aunt said it's a good idea and we would have this at home next time. It's quite a nice soup!

We were stuffed, but to end it with a sweet note, we had a tiny dessert. Mango Soft Rolls. Four tiny bits shared by 5 persons. hehe

Remember to read the fine prints if you are using vouchers. :-)
Have a great week! I am on leave these few days (clearing my leave) and using it to rest (i.e. sleep!)

Old Hong Kong Kitchen @ Square 2 Novena

Ms Internal Security wanted to have dinner with Dino as Dino couldnt make it to dinner the last time we met. [Actually, i think its another opportunity to try out another place :P] But we all gladly agreed as we all wanted to try out new places too!

She suggested Old Hong Kong Kitchen as she said there is 10% disc when she flashed her work card, so off we go.

We were deciding what to eat. They have dishes, as well as congee, rice - if you wanted carbo. We picked 2 congees to try. This was nearer to me, so here it is. "Lai Wan" Style Congee. It has lots of ingredients and its very sweet. I like this one.

And its served with deep fried fish skin. Very popular in Hong Kong. This is very crispy and can be salty too. But this one is just right.

We saw Sweet and sour pork with Lychee and thought, hmm...how is that going to taste? So we ordered to try. Cant quite taste the lychee but its quite a twist to it.

Our friend said the carrot cake here is good, and must order. So we ordered carrot cake and it came fried with bean sprouts and eggs.

Lastly, our healthy thoughts told us we must order some vegetables. So we decided on kai lan with chinese herbs. Turns out to be a soup like thing with herbs on top. Very nice and different.

I was still hungry after all that! So i ordered a bo lo bun with pork. This is very crumbly at the top. Its so so.

Overall, it was a good meal.
