We have been eating slightly costlier food, so it's back to cheaper eats.
I had lunch with colleagues from different buildings at my workplace today. We met for lunch at The Deck, more commonly known as the NUS Arts Canteen.
Looks like since the last time I was here, this stall has won another award! Apparently, it's the best stall in this canteen.
I picked 8 items, and it seems when I eat YTF, I always pick the same things! I always have a tomato!
You have to queue twice. The first queue, you pick the ingredients and pass this bowl to the lady at the counter.
You then go to the next queue and wait and inch forward slowly. After around 5 minutes or less, tada! Today's lunch. I had the dry version. You pour the sweet sauce or/and chilli sauce over the YTF according to your taste.
Satisfying. I had a tad too much sweet sauce over it. LOL...

Da Jie Niang Dou Fu @ Clementi Ave 2
I was woken up at around 11AM by momo and sis if I wanted breakfast. OK. Sure why not? I wake up get stuff to eat. haha... They had eaten earlier at this new place they found after going for exercise. Da Jie Niang Dou Fu at Clementi Ave 2.
These are the photos from Momo. It's like a place where you can get different styles of Niang Dou Fu. There's Tom Yam, Laksa, Hakka, Ampang to choose from
This is Momo's Hakka Style.
Sis had the soup only version.
This is my tapow version. The kuey teow is a lump already because i took time to wake up when the food arrived.
This is the Ampang Version. Quite tasty. But they said, it was a tad expensive and want to go to NUS sometime to eat there. haha...
Have a meaningful Palm Sunday tomorrow.

Yong Tau Foo & Laksa @ NUS Arts Canteen
Yesterday, we abandon our normal colleagues whom we usually have lunch with, and join other colleagues. We went to the NUS Arts Canteen. As the exams are finally over, the canteen's the best place to eat now! Very few students are coming in!
However, we saw nearly 50 kindergarten children though, all walking into the canteen while we were eating. Wah. Kindergarten children and they are already having visits to Universities! What an early head start!
I finally tried the acclaimed Yong Tau Foo stall in the Arts Canteen. The queue was the shortest!
It's famous you know! Look at the awards and the newspaper article pasted there. Many colleagues says so too.
What did I order, both Yong Tau Foo & Laksa in a bowl!
I kinda like the laksa gravy. It's thick enough but not overly thick with the 'jelak' feeling. The Yong Tau Foo stuff's really fresh too.
8 diff pieces of YTF, kuey teow and laksa gravy.
Only $2.40 (8 pieces : 1.80, noodles : .30, laksa gravy : .30)
OK, let me post the price list, zoomed in from the first picture above.
Have a good weekend!

Western Food (Half Spring Chicken) @ New Arts Canteen, NUS
The NUS Arts Canteen has reopened, and everyone who is kepo kepo all went to see see.
We heard about it and travelled there and joined the crowds too. (we must be mad).
It was chaotic. Anyway, another colleague and I queued for the Western stall. I ordered this. Half Spring chicken. Long long wait. $2.90
The canteen has two sections, upper and lower Level 1, and Level 2 - which has aircon restaurants like Burger King, Lerk Thai Bistro and Olio Dome.
Yes, there's discount for BK here.
Some sights of the Upper Level 1.

Maybe when the crowd dies down, we might visit this canteen again.
