The 2 Number 1 Nasi Lemak @ Adam Road Food Centre

Which is the real Number 1 Nasi Lemak at Adam Road? The answer is Up To You! It's up to your preference really! My colleagues and I, we were sitting down the other day looking which one has a longer queue, we realized both have equally long queues.

All we noticed is that the left queue moves slower because the makcik takes around 1 minute to serve 1 person. (Yes, my colleague timed it.) The right queue clears very quickly. We did not bother to time because it was quick!

Both stalls proudly proclaim they are No. 1.

This one says No. 2 Adam Road is the No. 1 Nasi Lemak.

Anyway, one colleague eat this quite often and he went to queue up at the left stall. We asked him why the left stall? The reason..... Kacang! Only the left stall serves kacang, and he likes kacang in his Nasi Lemak. So he ordered Adam's Special. $4

Another colleague, consider himself a purist and only queues at the No. 2 stall.
He ordered the Fish Meal $3 plus an otak otak for an extra $1.

Then who ate this? Me! After eating the tiny portion of Mee Rebus (from yesterday's post) I was still hungry. So I gave in to gluttony. I had the Chicken Wing Meal $3.

I shall not incur the wrath of both camps. Both sides have their own fans. Which is your favourite?

Mee Soto & Mee Rebus @ Adam Road Food Centre

This stall was recommended by one colleague. It's at Adam Road Food Centre and heard that it's popular.

This was the Mee Rebus that I tried a few days ago.
To me it's so so only. Another colleagues said Mee Rebus should be eaten at Ayer Rajah Market. Was told in the morning, it's the pak cik that sells it. His portion is larger and he gives extra stuff.

In the afternoon, it's the makcik, and this was what I get. ;-p
I had to eat something else after.

This is their Mee Soto. (I had Bee Hoon, so it should be Bee Hoon Soto) This photo is one month old though. I think their soto's better. The begedil is quite yummy.

If you visit their stall, you can see a huge pot of gravy for the soto. (It's really huge pot that you gotta see it. haha)

Nasi Singapura - House of Lontong @ Adam Rd Food Centre

Do you suddenly feel like having food from certain stalls that you seem to have forgotten they exist? Colleagues and I did. We suddenly remembered that we have not been to Adam Road Food Centre for a very long time.

It seems 'automatic' that our legs just brings us to this stall. We used to like this stall a lot.

I think 3 of us had the "Ayam Merah" with some veg sides. The sauce seems to have changed a bit. The cost definitely has gone up by a dollar too.

While the rest were queueing for food, I was sitting down 'choping' seats. So when they got back, it was already 10 over people later who had bought food. The 2 other persons who had the ayam merah first thought that the chicken was dry. Ya we could see it. But for mine, which was the 2nd batch, it was moist and juicy.

We were wondering... Why ah? Are they not consistent anymore?

Pukki had the 'Ayam Kari'. Still quite ok he says.

Another colleague, 'old cat' had the fish. Old cat usually chooses the healthier food amongst us, and when he looks at the more delicious calorie laden / sinful food, he wants to exchange with us. LOL But his lunch does look good too.

Hope your week has been a productive one.

Nasi Singapura House of Lontong @ Adam Road Food Centre

It has been a long time since colleagues and I went to Adam Road to have lunch. It's funny, when we decide to go there, everyone will say, I want to order the Ayam Merah. But when we reach there, only 1 person end up ordering it.

Does that happen to you too? Everyone decide want to eat something, but when we are there, everyone suddenly change their minds and eat something else.

Anyway, this is the store go to. You queue up for food, get the food, the lady at the stall will tell you how much it is, but you don't pay her. You pay to this most of the time grouchy lady sitting on the eating table right in front of the stall.

The Ayam Merah, I guess this photo might have been better taken from the other angle. haha..

I ended up having Assam Fish instead.

Another colleague who is eyeing other food after this, ordered only sides and no mains! Unless you consider egg a main dish. haha..

We also had Sup Kambing from another stall. Yummmm.
Have a good weekend!

Adam Road Food Centre: Nasi Singapura House of Lontong

It has been a long long time since colleagues and I went to Adam Road Food Centre. We went there today, and aiyoyo! we just head straight to the same shop!

It's like program liao, we always go there to eat the same thing!

We always head to this shop.

I ordered the same old thingy!
Ayam Merah, Kobis (cabbage) and Sambal Goreng.

Just look at the huge plate! OK, it's a bit dearer, it's $4, but absolutely delicious.
It's quarter a chicken btw.

A close up for you. If you like Sambal Goreng, you know that not every place have enough tempeh.

Suddenly, feel like eating the River Valley Nasi Padang now! haha....
