New Garo Japanese Restaurant @ Chun Tin Road

This was Sunday's lunch (before we went to Old Town). Aunt and Sis says this place is not bad, moreover we were hungry and hot and wanted a place with air conditioning, so we came in here.

We were seated in a long table, so I only took some photos, the ones at the other end is too far from my reach. I am only showing what I ate and what sis ate.

I had the Saba Shio & Katsu Furai Set Meal. $15.

Yup, I was in the mood for Saba again. I think a few more times and I will stop eating Saba for a few months. LOL

I think it was quite a filling set with the Saba plus a big piece of fried meat. Yum.

Sis had the Hiyashi Chuka Ramen. $12.
I like her ramen but she did not enjoy hers. She ate my food instead, while I ate hers.
There was something inside that made it a little bitter.

The set lunches are quite reasonably priced. It's also big in portion. Eg. Katsu/Oyako Don & Unagi that bro had was $16. Katsu/Oyako Don & Sashimi that bro's gf had was $16.

Quick service place and service is not too shabby too. I was quite full for a long time with its generous portions.

Ajisen @ IMM

This was dinner last Saturday with sis and momo. Sis needed to get some stuff from IMM. I also had to return library books at the nearby Jurong East library.

After settling all the errands, sis and momo decided that we shall have Ajisen. We noticed that the menu has finally changed. Prices are also different now.

At least there's something new to try and no more almost disintegrated menus.

We all had the Ajisen Sets, ie you order a main, a side dish and a drink. It's $14.90 each set for these that we ordered. These are the side dishes we had. Chicken wings. I always get this, it taste yummy somehow.

The white fish fingers. This was recommended by the person taking our orders. She said most people order it.

The meat skewers. This reminded us of the Australian 'pasar malam' food in Darwin! LOL... The ones in Darwin seem to taste better. ;-P

For the mains, this is the Kumamoto Ramen. Momo had this.

The Kotsu Ramen that sis had.

I had something totally new on the menu. The Spicy Octopus Dry Ramen.
Look at all the octopus suckers. It's a nice change to the usual soupy stuff I have in Ajisen.

For the soup dishes, sis and momo both noted that they are light handed on salt now. Why, oh why? The reason that we chose Ajisen was because we wanted some saltier food. LOL...

(But no one beats the saltiness at Santouka. Suddenly have craving for Santouka now. :-p)

Old Town Coffee @ Chun Tin Court

Old Town Coffee. We popped by after lunch on Sunday. This seems to be a new branch. The 'one' that people talks about in Singapore is at Big Splash. It's certainly no splash here, in a cosy and quiet neighbourhood.

After having lunch, cousin still wanted to have her favourite eggs. On the menu, it says Omega Soft Boiled Eggs. They must be using the Omega enriched eggs then.

One of the two cups of the famous Ipoh White Coffee.

Cousin and I had the iced 'Xi Mut' Milk Tea.
(huh? what's xi mut is panty hose in Cantonese, otherwise known as Xi Wa in Mandarin. LOL)

This is the hot milk tea.

The kaya butter toast. It's dark brown, not the usual white bread that's toasted.

What we saw inside was like curly fries strips of butter. :-)
They are quite good.

Nice change from the usual Ya Kun, Toast Box etc....
