The Daily Scoop @ Chip Bee Gardens

How's the weather at where you are now?

These few weeks in Singapore, the weather has been 'too warm'. I have been showering like up to 4 times on most days. The air conditioning at home used to be set at 25 Celsius, but the last few weeks it has been 24 Celsius because it is not cool enough. (The utility bill for these few months would be a shocking!)

With such warm weather, you can guess where we have been going to!
Ice cream places! These are some of the scoops of ice cream we had at The Daily Scoop.
Two of my favourite flavours. ;-P (I don't need to name them by now!)

Perfect for the warm season now..

The Daily Scoop - ice cream cafe @ Chip Bee Gardens

If you are a fan of ice cream, you would have know of The Daily Scoop that quietly tucked away at Sunset Way. Though hidden in the 'ulu' part of Clementi, ice cream lovers still make their way there to taste their ice cream.

You would be glad to know that they have recently open a new branch at Holland Village. Again, tucked away at the more quiet side of Holland Village, at Chip Bee Gardens. I think they are only a month old at this location. We were here on a Saturday afternoon and you can see a non-stop stream of people coming in for ice cream.

The Daily Scoop @ Chip Bee Gardens

Don't you like the name? The Daily Scoop. If only we can have a scoop a day and yet keep the calories away!

I personally think that their ice cream is the top 3 of the local ice cream cafes. Try it yourself and see if it's true. Ice cream is a personal thing, so let's see if you taste agree with mine. ;-)

The Daily Scoop - ice cream cafe

Why did we come here? Remember yesterday's post where I was with the ladies?  Since I have been behaving, I was treated to ice cream! Yay!

What flavours did we have?

Tai-Tai A had a double scoop of ice cream. Lychee Martini and a Chocolate. Do I need to describe the flavour to you? No need lah.... you can all imagine it. Lychee Juice and Vodka - Churned not stirred says their description.

Double Scoop - Lychee Martici and Dark Chocolate

Momo and I shared a double scoop of Salted Mr Brown and Mocha Mania.

Salted Mr Brown's got this sweet and salty taste which is tingles the taste receptors of your tongue. That's 2 out of the 5 taste sensation. But wait, we mixed it with Mocha Mania, which has the subtle bitterness of the coffee. Now that tickles 3 out of the 5 taste sensation on your tongue. Guess what happened? Our brains were temporarily short-circuit and we had temporary insanity! Gosh! You should try it!

Now Tai Tai B is subtle and refine lady. She like all things light and pure, so she picked the light coloured ice cream. To make it a bit more sophisticated, a flavour with a touch of vodka will do the trick. She had a single scoop of Lychee Martini. Just nice, not too much.

Single Scoop of Lychee Martini

I am wondering... Anyone of you have an ice cream a day? If someone invents zero calories ice cream, that would be a dream come true.

The Daily Scoop @ Clementi Arcade

My colleagues are on an ice cream binge! The last two weeks or is it three, we have been going to ice cream places! It's good that we work not too far from all these boutique ice cream places..

Today someone suggested we head to Sunset Way to check out the place. OK, the food we ate here maybe tomorrow, but since we were in Sunset Way, someone said.... so so nearby there's the ice cream place that we have not been for so so so long.

We walked in the hot afternoon sun, 1 driver is on course, the other did not drive today. Anyway, it was a short walk along Sunset Way. You will reach Clementi Arcade. If you are wondering what's here, nothing much except for The Daily Scoop we are after. It's shown in the photo (spot the white arrow, haha).

5 of us today, we had 2 double scoops.
This is the Avocado (on the right) and Green Tea & Red Bean (on the left).
Maybe it's our tongue, but we think Avocado should be renamed Ciku. It really taste so similar to ciku! We are not complaining :-) We like it.

The white one is Coconut! Which taste quite like the real thing.
The brownish one is Baileys and Choc Chips.

One thing though, this place serves ice cream in real cold ceramic bowls. Not plastic or paper cups. So it scores a few points if you are into counting carbon credits :-)

And also... no students studying, wonder why... But it's full though, with working people all eating ice cream.

The Daily Scoop! of ice cream...

The Daily Scoop is a ice cream shop that makes their ice cream at the same premises. It's one of the nice ice cream shop, also in the West of Singapore.

It's located at Sunset Way, in a place called Clementi Arcade.

If only, I live next door, then I can really have daily scoop!

I ordered Chocolate Ice Cream. I love anything chocolate. They also served it in a ice cream bowl that's super cold, so your ice cream does not melt so quickly.

Colleague ordered, err I forgot what her ordered. haha... he's the only one who ordered double scoop and with choc coated cone too!

We all went in a group, here's a pic of those who ordered cones. Most of them ordred Durian.

Try it, you'll love it!
