Seah Street Deli @ Raffles Hotel

This was the second part of the Sushi Tei lunch I posted a few days ago. After that nice meal, some people (OK, it's the ladies) wanted to continue chatting. The same people also wanted to have some drinks and ice cream.

We browsed their menu again, and did not find anything that fancy the picky taste buds of the ladies. :-P We thought we would ask the servers that was serving us, if they knew any place that sells ice cream. Guess the answer? "I think 7-Eleven nearby should have" was the reply! LOL!!!!

Yours truly then suggested Raffles Creamery. I told them you can sit at Seah Street Deli and order the ice cream from Raffles Creamery, so that you will still have an air conditioned place to chat. :-)

Half the people migrated over to Raffles Hotel.



We could have eaten these if we did not have a very full lunch just before our visit. ;-)



OK. Here's some of the drinks.
This is Pineapple something that some had. (haha.. I really forgot who had it)



I ordered something that sounded really weird.
Pink Flamingo! hehe... Very refreshing on the super hot Saturday afternoon. It's very very sweet!



For some people, on hot days, they will still drink hot coffee. I know many people are like this. (eg. my mum's one of them.)



The (I think it was) 8 ladies that came along were yakking away, talking about shoes, handbags, iPhones (it was that launched weekend), holidays (one went to Spain) etc.

The 4 guys had to move the mouth too. Guess how did the guys do it? We ordered food so that we can move our mouths too! LOL

We ordered wedges. These are quite delicious wedges!



We also had their fiery fries. The spicier version of it. (They had two kinds)
We finished the two bowls of it. Even after our lunch!




We gave 'gorilla' a surprise! We secretly ordered this big slice of cake for him.

The kind folks at Seah Street Deli played a "Happy Birthday" song over the sound system. The cake was brought out with a candle and 'gorilla' was so embarrassed! (everyone in the restaurant turned over to look and clapped.)

Oh man. His face turned so so so red! For all of us that knew 'gorilla', we all know he is very thick skin and never blushes. This time, we caught him totally off guard. LOL

The cake's nice. Very chocolatery, and the cherry cream makes it very unique. I think the rest of us ate more than half of it for him. Cakes are something the ladies liked. (compared to fries and wedges)



Hey, what happened to the ice cream? I shall post it tomorrow ok?

Continuation from yesterday.

We talked about kids friendly place right yesterday? Haha.
This is called kids friendly, they give crayons and paper for colouring.

No, the real kids didn't do this. It's the big kids who coloured it. LOL...




Sis actually wanted to order the Baby Ribs that she loves from this place. Aiya of all aiyahs! Don't have! So... she ordered Lamb Shanks instead. 18.50



We had a friend who came back to Singapore too, he order salah lah. Come back from Ang Moh country, order fried chicken. oops. 17.50

We also had 2 orders of Hamburger, 2 Elvis Burger etc, but aiya, table so long, so far, did not take them. Next time perhaps :-)

Yesterday, it was our Monthly Makan Sessions with friends. We usually celebrate people's birthday and use it as an opportunity to meet up.

(Hmmm just wondering, if there are anyone that knows us and wanna join us!. We started as people related to OCF Parkville. People got married and added spouses and kids, so now we are a good mix of people from all over. Last nite, we had 2 guests from OCF MU. If you can decode OCF, Parkville, MU, let's keep in contact!!)



This month we met at Seah St Deli. Around 20 over of us. Why we ended up here? Because it fits our criteria:
- Central (we live all over, got north, south, east, west pple)
- Air Conditioned (else the kids will make noise, and a few 'yin chim' pple too)
- Kid friendly place (we got 5 kids in our midst)
- Cheap parking for drivers (there's a per entry only $1.50 parking nearby, if you don't know)
- Near to MRT (for those taking public transport)
- Price range OK (coz we foot the birthday's boys/girls meal. 3 this month! haha..)
- Credit Card discounts available (you also want this right? don't aiyo us ok?)

(next time must have another criteria, place that is bright enough to take photos! today's photos all not sharp at all, due to the so called ambience lighting. haha..)

We state in mail out that we will start on time. So, when we arrive, we order! haha.. (can't penalise those who arrive early right?)


The kids has to be fed first. Kids Cheeseburger! Nice ya? $7.50



We give grace to pple who are late, so we start with appetizers.

It reminded a lot of us about the 'cheapskate' food we had to eat while we were all studying. We used to buy bags of this stuff, chuck it in the oven and finish them up watching TV. (ABC, SBS, 7, 9, 10 - more codes to decode!)



For mains, Mrs C had Rueben. Reuban sandwich consists of beef pastrami, sauerkraut, wholegrain mustard and melted Swiss cheese on grilled rye bread. $17.95



One of the birthday boy had Rib Eye Steak. $22.50
We had 3 orders of this.
