Cedele @ Ngee Ann City

A quick brunch with sis. We were at Takashimaya for the cardmember's extra 10% off sale.
Something healthy and something quick, Cedele comes to mind.

*** Home-style Chunky Beef Stew ***

I love their Home-style Chunky Beef Stew. ($10) I seem to have it whenever I come here.
The spice in it makes it taste a bit curry-ish, but it's not curry. It's a very addictive soup.

Hearty Beef Stew

Inside the soup: Root veggies like carrots, potatoes with skin on, onions, mushrooms, etc.
Oh yes, chunky pieces of beef.

It comes with as much bread as you want from the bread bin.
I had the olive bread and raisin bread.

*** Wild Mixed Mushroom Whole-meal Pancakes ***

Wild Mixed Mushroom Pancakes ($13.90)
Organic whole meal flour pancakes. Inside the pancakes are lots of scallion and coriander leaves.

The only thing that makes it not so healthy is the choice of either bacon or sausages. haha..
Well, if you do not have enough fat, vitamins A, D, E, K can't be carried along in our body right? So eat your bacon!

Cedele @ Wheelock Place

This was last weekend's brunch at Cedele at Wheelock Place.

I had to get some errands done at Shaw Centre. After settling what I had to do, Momo and I were wondering where to have our brunch. We walked around Shaw Centre and nothing fancied us.

We decided to walk across the street to Wheelock Place. Again, we walked around Wheelock Place, and nothing caught our eye nor attracted our nose. But when we saw Cedele, we knew that was it. It will be a good choice.

I was having a headache that day, so I wanted some hearty soup stuff. I ordered the "Home Style Chunky Beef" $10. It was a good choice. Lots of vegetables inside with the cubes of beef below. It was a wholesome tasting stew.

The stew was a tiny bit salty if you have it by itself. But if you have it with the self service organic bread (complimentary), it was just perfect. The bread was nice, it was rustic and fragrant. It goes very well with my beef stew. The bread sponges up the soup and when you put it in your mouth, it was delightful.

(There were two ladies, I believe expatriate wives who loved the bread and asked the waiter if they were also for sale. Not that morning though. The waiter gave them a bread schedule. I searched their website and realize it is indeed a bread schedule. You can see it here. )

Momo had the Black Pepper Crab Pasta $16.90.
She liked her penne. The deep fried soft shell crabs she said was good. The cut chilli that was in the pasta gave it a hint of spiciness.

While flipping through the menu, I could not help noticing the word "Cedele Fiery Wings" $8.80 in it. So we ordered it. When it came out, we were a bit shocked. It was a little dark / over-fried. If you don't mind the oil on it, it's actually quite nice. You can taste the black pepper plus some other stuff and it goes well with the sweet Thai sauce.

Cedele @ Wheelock Place

Another healthy meal? It's possible to eat more healthy meals if you know where to look for it. This was dinner with sis few days ago. She knows where to eat healthy meals. She said she is going to Cedele to eat healthier food, and I should too.

Her no carbo dinner. Beef and mushroom salad. I had some it's quite nice. I like the mushroom! The salad is splashed with balsamic vinegar, which sis likes.

The beef is around 80% done. They should change the cutlery though. A bit difficult to cut meat with the usual knife we find in restaurants.

I had braised pork with brown rice and veg. No, not the 'mixed rice' kind, but it's in the main course listed in the menu. I thought it was the more traditional braised type of meat, but this is healthy version of it! LOL

There was an option of white or brown rice. I took the healthier option. But I was secretly hoping it was some marbled pork, but not too fatty. But it turn out there's not even a hint of lard in it! It's healthy lean pork.

This was the dessert that we shared. A slice of the cake of the day. It happens to be the carrot and almond cake. Delicious!

Cedele @ Novena Square

We walked around after lunch at Zhou's Kitchen. Walking does burn away calories and make you tired and thirsty! Before we know it, we got a text message from aunt telling us if anyone's interested for a tea break, she's at Cedele, taking a break.

We were happy to receive the text and quickly appeared at Cedele to join her and uncle.
Aunt felt like eating something, so we got the tea set that consists of a drink and a scone.

Aunt had the cranberry scone. We all pinched a little bit and yes, it's nice!

Coffee.. (for the caffeine addict hehe)
Aunt needs a coffee in the afternoon!

Coffee!

I had something sweet and sour!
Sweet Honey with Sour Calamansi. Very refreshing.

Sour and sweet Calamansi, so refreshing!

Cheers! A green tea something with chocolate something.
Momo says she loves the chocolate drink here.

Yey to cold drinks!

While chatting, we realised we all call this place by differently.
Momo says her colleagues calls it "Sir Dell", and confidently said her other colleagues asked their ang moh colleagues, it should be like that.

I think it was aunt who said "See Dell".

I always call it "See Dell Lay".

How? So who is right? I decided to ask the people working there how to pronounce Cedele. I walked up to the counter and ask! It turns out I was the closest!

Oh, it's pronounced "See Dell Lee" said the chirpy service staff.

And now you know too. So, how have you been calling it?
