Oh the heat! Do you feel sticky and warm these few days? (or probably weeks)
What do think of having when you are feeling warm? Ice Cream!
We did not know that there are so many ice cream places near our place until we did a count recently. There are 10 of our favourite ice cream places within a 15 minute drive away! The nearest is only a 10 minute walk away!
There ice cream shops are nearby:
Cold Rock (Holland Village), Estivo Gelateria, Frutta La Viva, Haagen Dazs (Holland Village), Haato (Ridgewood), Ice Cream Kingdom, Island Creamery, The Daily Scoop, Udders and Venezia Gelateria.
We picked Venezia because the youngest in the family says so!
We were wondering if we should ordered 2 triple flavours to share (cheaper) or 3 double flavours to share (more convenient). In the end we picked convenience.
The Rum and Raisin + Butterscotch Ice Cream.
The Coconut Sorbet and Yogi Frozen Yoghurt.
The Chocolate and Burnt Sugar Ice Cream.
Everyone had their favourites. I think mixing Burnt Sugar and Butterscotch tastes the best!

Gelateria Venezia @ Guthrie House
We have a really really cute little niece and it was her birthday few days ago. This was after dinner and we had gelato at Venezia.
We each had a cup. We wanted to go Island Cremery, but at around 8.45 pm, our uncle figured it would be almost impossible to park there. Guthrie House will be less crowded and you get to park too.
Here are some of the gelato photos... :-)
The Belgium Chocolate that I had.
Need I say more? It's just so lovely.
Our uncle had Rum and Raisin, so did our cute little niece's parents.
Hey, my friends who always say I play with my food. See it runs in the family. The older ones also do the same!
This was Round 2 for me. Felt like having a bit more. Sis and Aunt said they will share with me, so I ordered a 2 flavour. Durian and Peanut Butter. (They have another name for the PB which I forgot). Yes, it does not go together, but the Durian's for aunt and we 'transferred' it to her empty 'bowl'.
The little girl had this. Her favourite Mango Gelato, on top of a waffle.
We had a hard time trying to figure out what presents to buy. But if you are attentive, you know what they want. I went out with her once and she was looking at 'food erasers'. We got her 2 packs of it and she was so so delighted. You should just look at her face and the scream when she opened the present. LOL.
We also got her an origami book and pack of origami paper. No, this did not excite her at all. Maybe origami are not for primary school kids?
What are 'food erasers'??? They are really cute erasers that is shaped like food. Sushi Packs, Western Food Packs etc. (Example from Flickr) You can get them at Popular Bookshops. I wonder what they do with it! Play 'masak-masak'?

Venezia Gelateria @ Guthrie House, Bukit Timah
Where's a good place to de-stress? Try a gelato place and have some gelato.
I think it's very therapeutic. I hope you get relax looking this photos too. Looking at photos without eating and just imagining the taste = zero calorie ;-)
Coconut Gelato. It's like eating coconut flesh / drinking coconut juice. Refreshing!
What is this? Mascarpone Cheese flavour.
This is so so good too....
Double Chocolate gelato with freshly made waffle. Delightful!
Want something more adult? Rum and Raisin that's quite potent with warm waffles. Aaahh....
Their tiramisu's not bad too.
It's midweek, and everyone seems to be overwhelmed with work. Get some ice cream / gelato!
(Sis was hinting to me: hey, the ice cream maker you bought has been sitting in the shelve feeling lonely, make use of it. ok ok.. one of these days...)

Gelateria Venezia @ Guthrie House, off Sixth Avenue
Colleagues and I, we had lunch yesterday at Turf City, and after that we wanted some Ice Cream. Since we were nearby Guthrie House, we went there to pay Venezia a visit.
At this time of the year, you can see students studying everywhere, this place has more than half the tables filled with very hardworking students. Wishing them all the best in their exams!
What did we have?
Those who like Durian, they shared this double scoop of Durian Gelato.
For the rest of who do not like, we shared a waffle with 3 scoops of ice cream.
Yummy! Mango Sorbet, Tiramisu and forgot the name of the chocolate.
It was good! Our stomachs have this compartment reserved for ice cream at anytime. Venezia is one of the pioneer of the made in Singapore 'boutique' ice cream shops. If I am not mistaken around the year 2000.
Any of you are also lovers of ice cream or gelato?
