Was in Bukit Timah Food Centre today and decided to try the super ultra popular chicken rice stall. There are I think about 3 or 4 chicken rice stalls in this food centre, but this stall just seems to have along snaking queue!
I waited around 30 minutes to get to my turn! The first 6 persons in the queue was having takeaways of 7-8 packets each! After they left, it was rather quick.
While I was queueing up, I had a chat with the 'aunty' who was behind me. Another guy behind her also joined us. The lady said that this stall is cheap and good. Only stall that people will queue for. This stall with the next few stalls around have been around for the longest time. They are the second generation. Hmm this lady must have been eating this chicken rice for years to know the history. I asked her which is nicer, the roast chicken or the 'white chicken'. She always order the roast chicken as it is less oily.
Anyway, since I had to queue for so long, I might as well order two types! (my bro will help to finish it for sure. haha)
The verdict, both bro and I think it's OK, quite decent. Portions are quite ok too for a $3 chicken rice.
My brother likes the 'white chicken', while I prefer the one below, the Roast Chicken.
Chicken rice is something very personal isn't it? Haha..
The chicken rice that my aunt says taste better than the other stalls.
This is the chilli that makes people addicted to their chicken rice? My aunt likes their chilli.
By the way, my uncle thinks its over-rated. He would not queue for it.
(See, everyone in Singapore has their personal rating of chicken rice!)

I'm with your uncle... I won't queue for chicken rice or most food, for that matter, no matter how good it is. Good food should be shared, and if it gets so popular one has to line up for it... Sighs...
Better lah franchise... LOL
Actually if the store owners are efficient and the food is cheap and good. I won't mind queuing for it. It is only when there is hardly a soul there and the store owner taking its own sweet time which I can't stand...
The rice doesn't look oily and the chicken looks so yummy... Very neat presentation... Maybe I should try it when I am nearby.
The couple who runs it are from our church ;)
Btw, they're first generation chicken rice sellers, second generation hawkers. My info confirm more accurate, trust me. Heh heh.
