Fei Siong Seafood @ Lorong Kilat

This was dinner a few nights ago with our extended family. Sis and I have not been here for like more than half a year. We remember it used to be nice, but when sis, bro and I came here for dinner long time ago, we thought it was not worth coming anymore. The food's not nice.

But it seems things have changed. It seems a zhi char chef has been replaced. The food is nice again.

The food we had that night is a person who is on a diet worse nightmare. But for those carbo lovers out there, this is yummy!

Carbo 1: Seafood Hor Fun on "Orpeh Leaf". If you ask for their special, it comes in this humongous plate and it has lots of seafood (prawns, scallops etc) and served on 'orpeh leaf'.

Seafood Hor Fun

Carbo 2: Salted Fish Fried Rice. Never mind salted fish is carcinogenic. How often do you eat it? *with a guilty smile* This fried rice is so fragrant with bits of salted fish, you can't stop with just one mouth of it.

Carbo 3: Mee Goreng here's nice too! I used to dislike anything with yellow noodles. But recently I discovered that I like mee goreng! I ate mee goreng a few post earlier too.

The noodles has this stickiness that binds them together.  Somehow when you put it in your mouth, you want more of it!

Delicious Mee Goreng

Carbo 4: CMI - Cannot make it. We all wondered why the rest of the carbo's so nice, yet this is not. We found out why. They used mock char siew! It's not that they want to make it a vegetarian dish. It has you know some little 'lardy crispy stuff' in it. I think the mock char siew just does not make it fragrant. But it does look good ya? haha...

Fried Bee Hoon

Carbo 5 / Fried Stuff 1:
Fried You Tiao stuffed with fish/prawn paste. Imagine biting into crispy You Tiao. The crackle on it just excite fried food lovers.

Fried Stuff 2: Crispy Prawn Paste Chicken Wings. You know how it taste, you can see the crispy skin. :-)

Do you see why the above it a dieter's worse nightmare? LOL.
As my sis usually say, the food is all so 'salah'.

This is the only 'right' food. Green vegetables - Stir Fried Fan Su Ye.

Do you like Carbo and Fried Stuff too?
Don't have it too often though... :-)

There was a time in my teens when I only wanted to eat bee hoon bec someone said that noodles r fattening.

Bee hoon is expensive here (99 euro cent for 250gram), so I had to make do with the pasta varieties here (25ct/500grams) which I use for noodle dishes.

These 2 weeks I'm too tired to cook. Just wanted a quick recharging, so ate instant noodles. Hope the cold weather will burn off the calories !

Co-incidently, I ordered hor fun last weekend. They r always out of seafood ! I suspect they just dont store up for the occasional request ? I especially liked lots of succulent fish filet :-) My old "kampong" used to hv a stall that fries up a smokey white kway teow with generous amount of fish n prawns - oh yum !
