The food I ate on the very last day of work last year. We were so so busy, yet we wanted to have something different.
We took a ride to Cafe on the Ridge. There was a buffet going on, but we did not really want to end our year by eating ourselves silly. (Though the buffet cost like only $2 more than our meals!)
One colleague decided he wanted to have Char Kuey Teow.
The rest of us, that was like the other 5 of us, had exactly the same thing.
Oh, no, we have been colleagues for like 10 years, has our taste become so similar now???
We like this because it is special. Istimewa means special in Malay/Indonesian.
We like to taste everything. Beef Rendang, Sambal Prawns, Spicy Chicken, Acar, Fried Egg, Fried Rice and of course Keropok!
But the chicken was errrr, not the chicken we were used to today. But everything else was nice.

Yes, you need a NUSS membership to dine here. But if you know anyone working in NUS, they can bring you in with their staff pass.
The Guild House in the NUS Bukit Timah campus is open to the public though. Just found out about it today.
