Yesterday I mentioned a quick dinner. It was but we took a bit longer than we wanted and was late! LOL...
Do you realise that when you go out with a group of people, you get people who don't like this and that. We wanted to go to the Ramen shop, but someone did not like ramen. So we ended up at Yakiyakibo. (What a name!)
I think it's only me that eats anything and everywhere! LOL...
I usually do not like Teppanyaki only for 1 reason. Our clothes stink after eating. But at this place, they put on a huge paper apron / bib on you. It covers your neck all the way to your knees.
Kind of reminds me of this place where you have giant ribs in Sydney called Hurricane's. They have huge bibs too.
Anyway, the 4 of us chose set meals : the Okonomiyaki, Seafood, Sirloin Steak and Wagyu set. The sets came with Salad, Chawanmushi or Tofu, Miso Soup, Fried Beansprouts, Rice (plain, garlic or tamago), the mains and a dessert. Prices was between I think $12 to $18?

(Personally, I think I prefer the usual ones in cups in other places. those are smoother and have more ingredients)

Tada, they serve the meat on a slice of buttered bread that's left on the hot pan.
The bread kind of absorb the oil and also the extra sauce.

If you are wondering, the sirlion is the most expensive, I think it's because you get more meat ;-) (compared to the wagyu)
And the bean sprouts. Do the teppanyaki dance and it gets transformed....

That Chawan-mushi-in-onion trick is neat, although I can't imagine mixing the smell of the two... Still, interesting...
The tamago fried rice looks good, got 'wok hei' (read in Cantonese) or not? The chawanmushi in onion cup is also very interesting but wonder whether the onion taste is strong?
Sakae teppanyaki has the same concept of putting the chawanmushi in onion.
Put the oily meat on the bread? Ah.. so much bread is wasted then.. Haha...

Ya, Sakae had something similar for their chawanmushi. In fact, I think sakae's version is a bit nicer. ;-)
