Lao Beijing: Glutinous Balls / Tang Yuan

Guess why we ordered this, the day that we were suppose to eat this on Tong Ji (Winter Solstice) but we forgot! haha... So, we ordered this to make up. After eating it, its suppose to symbolize getting a year older. So, eating it on New Year's eve is quite appropriate! haha...

Tang Yuan - $3

This is how it looks inside.

Happy One Year extra everyone who visits Singapura Daily Makan.

OMG, these are the best...the black, thick, sweet, and very aromatic black sesame filling. Pure heaven!

Oh yes, love black sesame filling too. And when you bite the tang yuan, the black sesame filling oozes out...

Your tang yuen very expensive lei... I'll eat mine at Telok Ayer Hawker Center. They serve their various tang yuen (yam, peanut, black sesame etc) in peanut soup.

Hey, that's one Ah-Balling stall at Beach Rd as well. Forgot the specific street name liao but it's near the place they sell all the army stuff loh. They also serve a mixture of tang yuen and in that bowl, I always try to see thru the tang yuen and look for the "black inner" for black sesame. Hohooo...
