Crystal Jade Kitchen @ Holland Village

Last Thursday, we celebrated one colleague's birthday by going out for a nice lunch. As the birthday boy is rather busy, we went to somewhere nearby which is Holland Village, so that we can come back quickly.

As it was still within the 15 days of CNY, regular dishes in the menu's not offered. Oh man... you should see the menu here. They actually staple up the pages of their menu! LOL So a thick menu now only has 4 or 5 pages to flip.

Times are not so rosy and so we did not really want to order "normal dishes with nicer sounding names" just for the sake of the names and pay a premium for it. So we picked dishes from the remaining pages of the menu.

We saw this item, Crispy Curry Duck. $24.
We were thinking of a bowl of curry with duck in it. What came surprised us. :-) It's Crispy Duck on a plate....

And two bowls of curry sauce for you to pour over the duck yourself. The curry smells very good. The duck's not too bad too. We just had to laugh ;-)

Someone wanted this Poach Chinese Spinach with 2 kinds of eggs. $22.20
This is the 1.5 size portion. We always like this.

Since most things on the menu's stapled up, we ordered the remaining stuff. Here's the deep fried prawn with salad sauce. $18

Deep Fried Prawn salad

And also steamed Cod Fish with Cut Chilli. $19.50
Cod cooked this way is always quite delicious ya?

We also ordered our regular servings of dim sum like Har Kau, Siew Mai, Chee Cheong Fun etc...

Happy Birthday Mr Z.
Congratulations too on the birth of your 2nd son today!

Ooh, they can always do it with three kinds of eggs too, rite? Chicken egg, century egg, salted egg... Oh the flavours... Oh the cholesterol... :P
