On Sunday, P & E invited a whole group of us to their house for a CNY meet up.
It has been a long time since we met up. We have also not met many others that was going. It was so nice to catch up with each other.
What did we eat? The host and hostess theme was Japanese for the day. So here's what we had.
The Yu Sheng. (no not Japanese, but the sashimi on top does it count? lol )
Don't you all love their table cloth??
GG, my ex-DL (Discussion leader) in BSF brought this. Sashimi Salad.
E made this huge chawanmushi. Instead of small little cups, she used the Corning ware soup bowl to make it. Quite delicious!
We need our greens, and here it is. Plus some purple too. hehe...
This is Wasabi Top Shell. It taste quite good, especially with nice warm rice.
This is Wasabi Squid. It gives me an idea of what to make next time when I invite people over! :-)
This is salmon that E baked in the oven and then lightly mashed it. E wanted it more coarse / bigger chunks, but her husband took over and make it finer. Hmm it taste good, so we are not particular about the size.
The stuff to put on top of the rice. Furikake and fish eggs.
The assembled product. I like this very much. I think I ate 3 of these! hehe...
The salty furikake topping is very addictive!
The roast beef with chopped herbs on top. That's the Japanese mint leaves (Shiso) chopped.
This is not it, more of it tomorrow.
Thanks P & E for inviting us. :-)

Lucky you. I wish more of my friends would invite me out for meals. Instead I find myself doing most of the invites and the hosting. :P
And I shall not re-start our argument about the yee sang, haha. I will say the one you had here looks much yummier. :D
LFB,
From your blog and FB, aren't you always having big big parties? ;-) The last big 3 0 one, is not hosted by you right? You are the VIP! hehe...
I used to organise monthly makan meeting for friends, but nowadays a bit slack. But there's others who taking over the duty, so I am happy :-)
Can you share the recipe for the Wasabi Top Shell and Wasabi Squid? They look yummy!
James,
When I meet my friend the next time, I will ask her for the recipe. Got to wait ok?
