Max Brenner @ Esplanade

After paying for dinner at Prego (from yesterday's post), they gave us 4 chocolate balls and we got tempted by what they gave us.

To satisfy the cravings, we thought we will proceed to a chocolate place. We thought of Max Brenner. Here's what we had:

Chocolate Walnut Brownie.
It was all right on one side, nice, moist and warm. The other side, it was kinda dry. Hmmm was it microwaved? Hmmm...

The chocolate souffle with vanilla ice cream.

It was OK. Psst, a nicer one will be at Bakerzin. (really!)

Now, people come to Max Brenner because they want to drink this. This is the dark chocolate Suckao. This is the pouring of the warm milk into the 'suckao container'.

Next you pick up the chocolate chips and put it into the milk.

Then you 'suck' it using the steel straw provided. Feel the warm chocolate flow into your throat.

This is the HugMug. I think this was the Belgium Chocolate drink.

It's a hugmug because you hug it with your palms. See how it will nicely fit in.
(psst, i know what some of you are thinking.. yes, it does look a bit like a WC lol...)

I have yet to be enamored by anything I've had there... have tried the suckao, the Venezuelan Milk Chocolate, the souffle, among others... Presentation + Location is nice... but not sure if I'll return.

Bakerzin on the other hand, is great!

My first chocolate souffle I have tried is from Max Brenner and I was completely confused with how souffle is supposed to be like... It was clearly a warm chocolate cake...

I do like Max Brenner's chocolate drink as they are slightly milkier than the others I have tried and their Iced dark Chocolate Granite... One of the best iced chocolate drinks I have...

LOL... The WC comment is killing me... again. Plus, it was rather warm there that day, aye? I do like the decor though.

I remember having really good chocolate desserts at Max Brenner in Sydney. Not sure if the standard's the same in Singapura, though. If it isn't, i'm striking it off the list when I visit. :-D

Maya: There are many places to get choc fix :-)

Ernst: Ya, the versions in Bakerzin is nicer right? You should try Max in Sydney or Melbourne. It's very very different from the ones here.

Fen: I like the Godiva chocolate drink. hehe.. You think Max is better or Godiva?

LFB: Ya, it was warm. I wonder if they were trying to be green and turn the aircon to 25C. Makes it rather stuffy!

Camemberu: Mom of two kids, is that what you usually see (and clean up?) haha... *salute you*

Lyrical lemongrass:
No, the standard's not as nice here. But if you go with great company, food's secondary lah. :-)
