The Icing Room @ Jurong Point (New wing)

I feel like a 'suaku' again yesterday. After Jurong Point has been refurbished for so long, it's the first time I stepped foot in. The place looks so nice! Very high ceiling etc...

Our CG was here to quickly grab a bite and then buy a cake and visit our ex-leader who's now serving as a ministry staff in another church. We were here to visit his new house and also to visit his new born baby.

Boon Lay is so far away, most of us will know it as the end of Singapore. Good thing we had a friend who drove the group of us there. He told us that he calls Jurong East the Wild West of Singapore. But when you reach Boon Lay, it's the Wild Wild West. (So what is Joo Koon? haha..)

We got angpow for the baby (most practical gift right?). We thought we should also celebrate the baby father's birthday which is in 2 weeks. So we went to hunt for a cake. We saw this new shop at Jurong Point - The Icing Room.

We saw everyone's decorating their own cakes. None of us are interested in decorating cakes. We were also in a rush so we opted for a ready made/decorated cake.

The Icing Room

Here's the cake we bought and ate in the new house. :-)
Quite yummy.

The Icing Room

When I went home, I did an online search and realise it's another new venture of the Breadtalk group.

The Icing Room

Nice place if you want to get a really personalised cake. You get an 'empty' cake and you can start decorating it. Visit their website if you want to find out more.

Fellow food blogger has an entry on it too. You can read LadyIronChef's post on it.

When you buy your cakes here, bring enough cash. It's cash only. They do not accept credit cards, not even NETS.

That's one lucky birthday boy...the cake looks super delicious! The 'suaku' me also haven't been to the West for ages. Maybe it's time to venture out for the sake of this...

I'm happy that I had stumbled on your blog but visiting it is extremely difficult for me...makes me want to eat some more when I've just had dinner! Oh my, there goes the 9kg that I had shed...

I don't know about the counter cakes, but the ones you have to decorate yourself, the cake itself is yummy. a somewhat light vanilla fruit cake =)

alcy,
eat more cake and then go exercise more. :-p

LIC,
They did not use the breadtalk box. It was a white the icing room box. the box was very nice. LOL...

Oooo... I did not know it was fruit cake. I saw them preparing the 'white base cake' for some to decorate, it looked like plain vanilla cakes to me. (with lots and lots of cream covering it. hehe)

Ya, it was thick and gooey chocolate. inside it was cold as well. not too bad ;-)

Nic,
Ya!! It certainly did not look like a cake shop, more cosmetic. But the people there are all applying cosmetics to the cakes right? hehe..

Meg,
Oh, I am sure you can bake something similar. NZ butter makes great butter cakes!!

Anon,
Thanks. I am more of a glutton. hehe..

LIC,
Maybe they removed those boxes. I wonder what other shops they might come out with :-)
