Lao Beijing: Honey Eel

Happy New Year Everyone! Have a great year of fabulous makan in 2007.

Our family, we went to have New Year's Eve Dinner at Lao Beijing 老北京食堂, it's located at Plaza Singapura. (68 Orchard Rd, #03-01 Plaza Singapura)

The next few day's photo will show you what we ate :-) Enjoy...

This is the appetizer or snacks that is served the moment you sit down. (No peanuts here) Sze Chuan Veg is one of my favourite. This is not too salty and a bit spicy, so it's how we like it.

Pickles (plus tissues) - $2.50

The first dish that came is Honey Eel. We love eel. Its sweetish (of course! it's honey). The eel has been deep fried till its crispy and the sauce is stirred in.

Honey Eel - $16

Hey, don't look like eel at all. Looks like sliced beef. This should have been a wonderful New Year's Eve dinner after those xmas ham. Hard to get "sick" of chinese food.
