Wedding Lunch @ Shangri-la Singapore

This was a wedding lunch we had last Sunday. The bride and groom is the most 'gila' (fun loving ) people we know.

They said this is not your normal boring wedding banquet. They wanted their wedding luncheon to be as entertaining and fun possible for their friends. They did away with things that things they do not like in wedding lunch/dinners. Off goes the cake cutting and the champagne pouring.

They entertain us with live band with singers performing love songs. Their best friends and family members telling us their stories from young till now. The most entertaining was the groom's best friend telling the groom's darkest secrets. LOL

Anyway, the luncheon at Shangri-la is as follows:
We were served different kinds of bread. The following are the bread from our table.

The mini baguette. (for those with real teeth only)

Mini baguette

The brown/wholemeal(?) and healthy rolls. This actually taste quite good.

Mini hard roll

And the soft rolls. (for those who are on braces lol)

Guess what? We had two starters/appetizers. The bride and groom mentioned that during the food tasting, they like both starters that they were served and decided that all their guests can try both!

So, everyone on the table can choose one, and we are to share what we have with the persons beside you. (oh so typical of the bride and groom. lol)

This is the "Deep-fried Sesame Crusted Chicken Fillet, Mixed Nuts and Apple Salad, Hazelnut Dressing". The chicken's behind. I like the nuts and apple salad.

This is the other appetizer: "Tandoor-marinated Red Seabass Fillet, Avocado Mixed Salad, Citrus Dressing."

The seabass is nicely done and goes well with the Avocado Salad.

Then came the soup. "New England Corn and Clam Chowder, Creamy Leek Stew, sprinkled with Bacon Bits." Lovely soup that goes well with more bread rolls that were being served.

The main was "Chicken Teriyaki with Macaire Potatoes, Braised Endive, Assorted Mushroom Rogout." The macaire potato (twice cooked potato) is delicious. The chicken's also nicely done. I don't fancy endives though. LOL.

After that, it was a Dessert Buffet!
Can you guess what we had? :-)
